Downey fought the good fight in their overtime game against Bellflower on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 64-62. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since January 27, 2024.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Tyler Harris, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 18 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Earl Santos, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points.
Meanwhile, Warren posted their closest win since December 13, 2023 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Artesia 57-54. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.
Downey better focus on containing King Johnson and Jay'Mari Redmond as the pair were huge in Warren's win. Johnson posted 20 points, while Redmond had 13 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Eric Gallardo Jr., who earned six points.
Warren is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Downey, they moved to 15-8 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Downey has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26 boards per game.
