Basketball Recap: Archbishop Bergan Takes a Loss

Archbishop Bergan played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Lincoln Christian Crusaders and fell 67-19. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Crusaders are ranked third).

Despite the loss, Archbishop Bergan still got an impressive performance from Alina Ortiz, who posted seven points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Ortiz a new career-high in points.

Archbishop Bergan has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Lincoln Christian, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season.

Archbishop Bergan will host Concordia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Christian has already played their next matchup, a 69-23 win against St. Cecilia on the 30th.
