Softball Game Preview: Plainwell Trojans vs. Galesburg-Augusta Rams

The Plainwell Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Galesburg-Augusta Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Plainwell is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Vicksburg, falling 14-3.

Plainwell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Seibert, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Emma Preuss also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Galesburg-Augusta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-1 to Kellogg.

Galesburg-Augusta's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Plainwell, their loss dropped their record down to 7-24.

Plainwell took their victory against Galesburg-Augusta in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 21-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
