Basketball Recap: Hannan Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Saturday. Hannan were beaten by Meadow Bridge 70-42. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Meadow Bridge this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-49 back in January.

Despite the loss, Hannan still got an impressive performance from Braxton Fortner, who posted 20 points. Fortner's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Bryce Phillips, who scored nine points.

Hannan has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Meadow Bridge, their record is now 13-7.

Coming up, Hannan will take on Point Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will be up against the Big Blacks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.63 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Meadow Bridge, they will face off against Midland Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
