Softball Game Preview: Long Beach Bearcats vs. Picayune Maroon Tide

Long Beach is 2-8 against Picayune since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Long Beach will face off against Picayune at 6:30 p.m. Long Beach has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Long Beach is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Pascagoula by a score of 13-12 on Thursday. While the Bearcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 5-0 in the first period.

Meanwhile, Picayune was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Purvis.

Picayune's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Long Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
