Basketball Recap: Baker County Takes a Loss

Baker County was the 54-46 winner over Clay when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Baker County Wildcats took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clay Blue Devils on Thursday.

Despite the loss, Baker County still got an impressive performance from Will Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in rebounds.

Baker County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Clay, they moved to 3-12 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Baker County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Union County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Union County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season. As for Clay, they will face off against Ridgeview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
