Baseball Game Preview: Hartfield Academy Hawks vs. Jackson Academy Raiders

For the second straight game, Hartfield Academy will face off against Jackson Academy. The Hawks will square off against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hartfield Academy 3, Jackson Academy 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Hartfield Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Jackson Academy by a score of 6-2.

JP Abt made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Sam Oakley was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grayson Vance, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Hartfield Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jackson Academy only posted an OBP of .281.

Hartfield Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. As for Jackson Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-14.
