Football Recap: Central Dauphin East Takes a Loss

Central Dauphin East extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 2-6. They were outmatched by the State College Little Lions and fell 39-7. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Little Lions are ranked 36th).

As for State College, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 27 points or more this season.

It was another big night for D'Antae Sheffey, who rushed for 183 yards and four scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Coming up, Central Dauphin East will face off against Bishop McDevitt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders' defense has only allowed 12.7 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for State College, they will take on Carlisle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Little Lions will be up against the Thundering Herd's rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.63 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
