Softball Recap: Kirtland Takes a Loss

Kirtland lost against West Geauga back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hornets lost 12-2 to the Wolverines. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Boyd Kennedy was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

Kirtland now has a losing record of 2-3. As for West Geauga, they moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kirtland will face off against Crestwood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.71 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for West Geauga, they will square off against South at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight.
