Clarion Area dropped their record down to 9-4 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Redbank Valley Bulldogs by a score of 8-6. The Bobcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Clarion Area saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Hindman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Billy Kahle also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Redbank Valley, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games.

On Redbank Valley's side, Jaxon Huffman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Huffman has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Clarion Area will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Lakeview at 4:15 p.m. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sailors have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Redbank Valley, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Karns City at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
