Basketball Recap: Addie Kelso's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Switzerland County over Batesville

Switzerland County was the 36-33 winner over Batesville when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. 2025 welcomed the Switzerland County Pacers with a 58-37 loss courtesy of the Batesville Bulldogs on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Pacers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 126th).

Switzerland County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addie Kelso, who posted 12 points. Kelso is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Bri Stow was another key player, putting up ten points.

Switzerland County's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Batesville, they moved to 11-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Switzerland County will square off against Lawrenceburg at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Batesville, they will face off against Jac-Cen-Del at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Batesville is facing Jac-Cen-Del at the right time seeing as Jac-Cen-Del is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
