Richmond has gone 10-0 against Hoke County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Richmond Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Hoke County Bucks at 7:30 p.m. Richmond will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Richmond beat Pinecrest 66-54. The win was all the more spectacular given the Raiders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Patriots are ranked 124th).

Richmond's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ahaiver McDonald led the charge by going 8 for 14 en route to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amer Morrison, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 13 points.

Meanwhile, Hoke County came up short against Lee County on Tuesday and fell 60-52. While the Bucks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Yellow Jackets 22-10 in the first quarter.

Richmond's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Hoke County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Richmond was able to grind out a solid win over Hoke County when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 58-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Richmond since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
