Volleyball Recap: Tongue River Falls Short Against Ranked Sundance + How To Watch

Tongue River faced Sundance in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Tongue River sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-13, 23-25, 25-22, 25-27, 15-8.

Emma Sopko paced Tongue River's offense, picking up 17 kills. Sopko got some help from Aubrey Kelty and her 38 assists. Kelty was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Sundance can attribute much of their success to Karly Marchant, who had 17 digs and one assist.

Tongue River's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Sundance, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 17-7.

Tongue River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Greybull on the 4th. As for Sundance, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Big Horn on the 4th.
