Football Recap: Cimarron-Memorial Comes Up Short

Cimarron-Memorial lost against Amplus Academy back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cimarron-Memorial Spartans took a 19-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Amplus Academy Archers.

Amplus Academy was led to victory by Ashley Galvis and Tatianna Kanoa. Galvis rushed for 136 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, while Kanoa gained 113 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Kanoa a new career-high in rushing yards (68).

Cimarron-Memorial has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Amplus Academy, their record now sits at 5-10.

Cimarron-Memorial will square off against Desert Pines at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cimarron-Memorial is facing Desert Pines at the right time seeing as Desert Pines is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. Amplus Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
