Baseball Recap: Dover-Sherborn Comes Up Short

Dover-Sherborn extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 4-14. They fell 7-4 to the Medway Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-5 back in April.

Dover-Sherborn saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Howell, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

As for Medway, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games.

On Medway's side, Aidan Tkowski was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Tkowski was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jack Heavner was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Connor, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Coincidentally, Dover-Sherborn and Medway will both be playing Millis the next time they take the field. The Raiders will head out to face the Mohawks at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will host them at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
