Softball Recap: Piketon Now 11-1 over Last 12 Games

The matchup between Piketon and Westfall on Wednesday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Redstreaks were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Redstreaks, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Kyndall Carroll made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Carroll was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Jaylin Forbes was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Heath, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

Piketon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in nine consecutive contests.

Piketon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for Westfall, they moved to 9-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piketon will host McClain at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westfall, they will take on Chillicothe at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
