Homestead proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Elkhart Lions. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won nine matchups in a row.

Reagan Lyons paced Homestead's offense, picking up 11 kills. Lyons got some help from Avary Heady and her 17 assists. Caya Nelson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Homestead's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Elkhart, their loss dropped their record down to 17-5.

Coincidentally, Homestead and Elkhart will both be playing West Lafayette the next time they take the court. The Lions will head out to face the Red Devils on Saturday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
