The Canyon Cougars fell just short of the Clark Cougars by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Canyon came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Clark is ranked 251st).

Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Clark, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4-1.

Canyon will square off against Akins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clark, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Clark face off against the Medina Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
