Baseball Recap: St. Charles West Comes Up Short

St. Charles West extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 12-13. They came up short against Winfield, falling 9-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 6, 2025, but that streak is no more.

As for Winfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

For Winfield's part, the team relied heavily on Brady Cappel, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Timothy Emmons, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Charles West will venture away from home to challenge Pattonville at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winfield, they will head out to square off against Montgomery County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
