Baseball Recap: Brunswick Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Brunswick waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Catoctin Cougars as they made off with a 9-2 victory. The Railroaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

The team relied heavily on LJ Tobery, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Brunswick is undefeated when Tobery posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Carter Vinar was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Brunswick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Brunswick's record now sits at 4-6. As for Catoctin, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Brunswick will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Grace Academy at 6:15 p.m. As for Catoctin, they will take on Boonsboro on Monday.
