Basketball Game Preview: Sharpstown Apollos vs. Sterling Raiders

The Sharpstown Apollos will challenge the Sterling Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Sharpstown and five for Sterling.

Last Tuesday, Sharpstown was beaten by Benjamin Davis 63-16. The game marked the Apollos' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Sterling had to suffer through a 72-42 loss at the hands of Randle. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1200th, while the Lions are ranked 495th).

Sharpstown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Sterling, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Sharpstown was dealt a bruising 82-32 defeat at the hands of Sterling in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Sharpstown was down 42-11.
