Basketball Recap: Shadyside Comes Up Short

Shadyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 55-38 fall against the Caldwell Redskins. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Redskins 19-9 in the first quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Caldwell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Breighlee Moracco, who posted six points in addition to eight steals and seven assists. Moracco is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lyla Lowe was another key player, putting up five points along with 13 rebounds and five steals.

Shadyside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Caldwell, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.

Shadyside will take on Barnesville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Caldwell, they will square off against Morgan at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
