Basketball Recap: Tradition Prep Piles Up the Points Against Somerset College Prep Academy

Tradition Prep won the last time they faced Somerset College Prep Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Tradition Prep Pirates blew past the Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans 75-48. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Spartans are ranked 656th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ethan Chevres was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aydan Fields, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Tradition Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Somerset College Prep Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lenz Constant, who posted five points. Micheal Hill also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Tradition Prep has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
