It was a good run, but St. John Paul II Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the BASIS Phoenix Firebirds by a score of 3-2. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Firebirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

St. John Paul II Catholic now has a losing record of 4-5. BASIS Phoenix has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Paul II Catholic will host Scottsdale Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for BASIS Phoenix, they will face off against ALA - Ironwood at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
