Basketball Recap: Dwight Takes a Loss

Dwight was the 51-47 winner over Lowpoint-Washburn when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Dwight Trojans took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lowpoint-Washburn Wildcats on Tuesday.

Lowpoint-Washburn got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Schumacher out in front who went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Isaacson, who posted 12 points and six boards.

Dwight has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Lowpoint-Washburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Dwight will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. As for Lowpoint-Washburn, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Seneca at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lowpoint-Washburn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
