Football Game Preview: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. Calvary Christian Warriors

The St. Petersburg Green Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Calvary Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, St. Petersburg put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They came out on top against Northeast by a score of 31-21. The Green Devils haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

A big part of St. Petersburg's win came down to the chemistry between Cole Underwood and his top target Thomas Grizzard. Underwood threw for 186 yards and three TDs while completing 81.2% of his passes while Grizzard picked up 105 receiving yards and three scores.

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian got the win against Northside Christian last Friday by a conclusive 56-36. Considering the Warriors have won three games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Petersburg better keep an eye on Jack Wang. He was instrumental in Calvary Christian's win, rushing for 122 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

Calvary Christian's run defense was locked in: Northside Christian could only muster 1.8 yards per carry. The team can thank Tripp Foote for the heroic effort on defense: he. The dominant display was nothing new: Calvary Christian has now limited their opponent to fewer and fewer yards per carry in three consecutive contests.

St. Petersburg's record is now 2-5. As for Calvary Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
