Volleyball Game Preview: McDonald Blue Devils vs. Crestview Rebels

The McDonald Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Crestview Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

McDonald will head out to face Crestview after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. The Blue Devils lost 3-0 to Mineral Ridge. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blue Devils have suffered against the Rams since September 7, 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Crestview put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Liberty 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Crestview took every set by at least 13 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-8, 25-8.

Crestview's win came from a few key players McDonald will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sophia Stewart, who had nine digs and five aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven games.

Crestview was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Crestview's record is now 12-0. As for McDonald, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 9-2.

McDonald suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Crestview when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
