After a string of three wins, Benton Central's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 69-57 to the Kankakee Valley Kougars. The Bison were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Kougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Kankakee Valley found their leader in freshman Camry Krueger, who went 8 for 17 on her way to 25 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Krueger has scored all season. Jenna Walker was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Benton Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Kankakee Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Benton Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-23 victory against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin on the 26th. As for Kankakee Valley, they will host Westville at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
