Basketball Game Preview: Arcanum Trojans vs. Bradford Railroaders

Arcanum is on a four-game streak of home losses, Bradford a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Arcanum Trojans will welcome the Bradford Railroaders at 7:30 p.m. Arcanum is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Arcanum lost to New Bremen at home by a 51-35 margin. The match marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Arcanum had strong showings from Cameron Ball, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards, and Landon Flatter, who posted 13 points. Arcanum is 6-3 when Ball posts ten or more boards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Bradford played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 71-42 defeat at the hands of Botkins. While losing is never fun, the Railroaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 626th, while the Trojans are ranked 124th).

Arcanum's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Bradford, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Arcanum took their victory against Bradford in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 54-30. Will Arcanum repeat their success, or does Bradford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
