Etna typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday West Valley proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 19-8 margin over the Lions. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Kylee Jaramillo was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Maddy Pemberton, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
West Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
West Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Etna, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-4.
West Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-5 loss against University Prep on the 29th. As for Etna, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-1 victory against Mt. Shasta on the 25th.
