Basketball Game Preview: Orleans Bulldogs vs. Mitchell Bluejackets

The Orleans Bulldogs will face off against the Mitchell Bluejackets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Orleans is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, Orleans was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-42 to Bedford North Lawrence.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Savannah Russell, who posted 11 points and eight boards. Those 11 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mylie Knight, who earned eight points.

Meanwhile, Mitchell played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Paoli, falling 43-13. The Bluejackets have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Orleans, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-5 record this season.

Orleans took their win against Mitchell when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 56-32. Does Orleans have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mitchell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
