Basketball Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 68-50 to the Summerfield Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 28th).

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Summerfield, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Monroe and Carlson will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. Carlson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season. Summerfield will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Morenci at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th.
