Baseball Game Preview: Lyons Lions vs. York Dukes

For the second straight game, Lyons will face off against York. The Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Dukes at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lyons 4, York 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Lyons couldn't beat York on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Lions fell just short of the Dukes by a score of 6-5. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Lyons got a good showing from Mercer Krantz, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Krantz has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lou Ratcliffe led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Noah Fitzgerald was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

The win (which was York's eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-1.
