Baseball Game Preview: Aiken Fighting Green Hornets vs. Brookland-Cayce Bearcats

For the second straight game, Aiken will face off against Brookland-Cayce. Aiken will be playing at home against Brookland-Cayce at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Monday, Aiken beat Brookland-Cayce 6-2. The contest marked the Fighting Green Hornets' most dominant win of the season.

Spencer Johnson was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Johnson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Aiken kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. Aiken is a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Aiken's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Brookland-Cayce, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Aiken has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Brookland-Cayce struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts.
