Volleyball Recap: Northern Guilford's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Northern Guilford couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 3-0 to the Kings Mountain Mountaineers on Saturday. The Nighthawks' defeat signaled the end of their 17-game winning streak.

While Northern Guilford had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-18.

Samantha Chavis paced Northern Guilford's offense, picking up 11 kills. Chavis really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 16.

Northern Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 22-3. As for Kings Mountain, the win (which was their 25th in a row) raised their record to 33-1.

Northern Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kings Mountain, they will take on Watauga at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
