Basketball Recap: St. George's Takes a Loss

St. George lost against Northpoint Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The St. George's Gryphons lost 52-30 to the Northpoint Christian Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Gryphons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 372nd in Tennessee, while the Trojans are ranked 98th in Mississippi).

St. George's dropped their record down to 3-17 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Northpoint Christian, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Harding Academy the next time they take the court. Northpoint Christian will head out to face Harding Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while St. George's will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
