Softball Recap: Fairview Comes Up Short

Fairview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Martin County Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 15th.

Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Martin County, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairview will head out to challenge Elliott County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Martin County, they will venture away from home to square off against Barbourville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
