Recap: Weatherford Eagles vs. Bethany Bronchos
The Weatherford Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Bethany, falling 69-38. Weatherford was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-17.
Bethany was led to victory by Kayten Donley and Keziah Lofton. Donley scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Lofton scored 25 points along with three steals. Lofton is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Marchino, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Weatherford's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Bethany, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-4.
Weatherford will head out on the road to face off against Blanchard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Blanchard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Weatherford is ranked 71st). As for Bethany, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Ardmore at 6:30 p.m. Bethany is coming into the game with 13 straight victories at home, meaning Ardmore will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
