            Softball Recap: Newington Nor'easters vs. Bristol Eastern Lancers        
        
		
        
        
            Newington was the  7-5 winner over Bristol Eastern when they last played one another  back in April of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Nor'easters fell just short of the Lancers by a score of  5-4 on Tuesday. The  game marked the Nor'easters' lowest-scoring  contest so far this season.

 Abigail Greaves spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. The game marked  her first with multiple  earned runs this season.
 At the plate,  Kiley Connors was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI.  Peyton Stegmaier also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
This is the second loss in a row for Newington and  nudges their season record down to 1-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the  losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Bristol Eastern, the  win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newington will host Lewis Mills  at 3:45  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Nor'easters' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8  runs per game this season. As for Bristol Eastern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against RHAM  at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday.
