Basketball Recap: Ogden Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Ogden played in conference for the first time on Wednesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They snuck past the Ben Lomond Scots with a 39-34 victory. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Scots, too.

Several Scots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zeb Whetton, who posted four points in addition to five boards and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Whetton a new career-high in blocks. Deshawn Holland was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Ogden's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Ben Lomond, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ogden Tigers face off against the Union Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ben Lomond, they will challenge Grantsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Grantsville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.
