Recap: Dawson Eagles vs. Alief Elsik Rams
The Dawson Eagles won the last time they faced the Alief Elsik Rams, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Dawson came out on top against Alief Elsik by a score of 41-31. Given Dawson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Alief Elsik is ranked 510th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dawson found their leader in underclassman Kendall Ford, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Kennedy Smith was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Dawson's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-7. As for Alief Elsik, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.
Dawson will square off against Alvin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alvin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Alief Elsik, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Alief Taylor at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Alief Taylor focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday.
