Basketball Recap: Liberty County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Southeast Bulloch last Tuesday, Liberty County came back down to earth. The Liberty County Panthers took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jenkins Warriors on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Warriors are ranked 139th).

Aniyah Browner was the offensive standout of the match as she almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine steals. She has been hot, having posted four or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Keara Jones, who posted 11 points.

Liberty County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Jenkins, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-8.

Liberty County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-29 loss against Windsor Forest on the 15th. As for Jenkins, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-39 win against Calvary Day on the 15th.
