Baseball Game Preview: Lake Wales Highlanders vs. Owasso Rams

The Lake Wales Highlanders will head out to square off against the Owasso Rams at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.

Lake Wales managed to slip by Owasso the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Lake Wales lost 12-2 to Owasso on Saturday. Highlanders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Rams since on Saturday.

Lake Wales saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Finnell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Cash Cockrell also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Owasso pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Wales, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
