Basketball Recap: Fairmont Heights Comes Up Short

Fairmont Heights lost against Oxon Hill back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fairmont Heights Hornets took a blow against the Oxon Hill Clippers, falling 56-19. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-10.

Angela Green was Fairmont Heights' leading scorer, having posted eight points. Zaniya Payne held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Fairmont Heights has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. Their recent woes sure aren't a result of their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 36% in those games and 25% outside of them. As for Oxon Hill, their win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-5.
