Volleyball Recap: Sturgeon Bay Takes a Loss

Sturgeon Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Bay Port Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Clippers of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2016.

Audrey Harrington paced Sturgeon Bay's offense, picking up four kills. Harrington got some help from Makenna Coyhis and her 24 assists. Coyhis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Taylor Russell was a one-woman wrecking crew For Bay Port. as she had seven aces and six digs. Those seven aces gave Russell a new career-high.

Sturgeon Bay's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Bay Port, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Sturgeon Bay wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Manitowoc Lutheran on the 29th. As for Bay Port, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Waupaca on the 29th.
