            Lincoln Southwest won the last time they faced Elkhorn South and things went their way  on Wednesday too. The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks strolled past the Elkhorn South Storm with  points to spare, taking the game  66-48. Given the Silver Hawks' advantage  in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Storm are ranked 118th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.

Perhaps the best among them was   Kaytee Irons-Buettner, who  shot 43% from the field to rack up 18  points and seven  rebounds. The  game was  Irons-Buettner's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Eleanor Griffin, who  posted 14 points and five  boards.
 When it comes to explaining why Elkhorn South lost, don't look at  Alexa Eddie. Despite the final result, she  went 5-for-6  on her way to 11  points along with six  rebounds and four  steals. Mollie Probasco was another key player,  putting up 15 points and seven  boards.
Lincoln Southwest's victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 16-7. As for Elkhorn South,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 6-16.
 Lincoln Southwest has already played their next contest,  a  65-46  loss against Bellevue West on the 28th. Elkhorn South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
