Basketball Game Preview: Oaktree Academy Grizzlies vs. Summit Christian Academy Eagles

Two dominant forwards in Caleb Reeves and Courtland Reiter are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Oaktree Academy Grizzlies will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Summit Christian Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Oaktree Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup back in December of 2024 with ease, bagging a 65-23 victory over Varsity Opponent. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Grizzlies as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Oaktree Academy can attribute much of their success to Trey Mozingo, who posted nine points and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Quentin Rogers, who earned six points and five rebounds.

Oaktree Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Summit Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They walked away with a 57-46 victory over Yeshivas Aish Kodesh Talmudical Academy on Tuesday.

Summit Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Oaktree Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Oaktree Academy ended up a good deal behind Summit Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, losing 59-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Reiter, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards.
