Softball Recap: St. James Comes Up Short

St. James was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Albany Hornets, falling 15-5. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly ten runs.

Ja'Rah Bright made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jai Bright, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

St. James' loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Albany, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as St. James Wildcats face off against Berwick Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Albany, they will head out on the road to square off against Springfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.21 runs per game on average), something Albany will no doubt try to take advantage of.
