McLean fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Herndon on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 6-5. The Highlanders' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

McLean's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Herndon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

McLean will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Albans at 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Herndon, they will take on Chattanooga Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
