Softball Game Preview: Sandia Prep Sundevils vs. Rio Grande Ravens

Sandia Prep hasn't had much luck against Rio Grande recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Sandia Prep Sundevils are taking a road trip to face off against the Rio Grande Ravens at 3:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Sandia Prep is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They came up short against Capital, falling 18-3.

Sandia Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amelia Martinez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Rio Grande unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 19-6 to Valley on Saturday.

Sandia Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rio Grande, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Sandia Prep came up short against Rio Grande when the teams last played back in March of 2018, falling 22-17. Can Sandia Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
